Going Beyond Boundaries...

Art of Prayer

#4:  A HEART FOR HEAVENLY  TREASURES!

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." -  Matthew 6:19-21.

ART OF PRAYER #4: A HEART FOR HEAVENLY TREASURES

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for adding one more day to my life to seek Your face. I recognize that every breadth that I take is a precious gift from You, especially during this pandemic.

According to Psalm 90:12-17, teach me to number my days, that I may apply my heart unto wisdom.

Jesus, in His wisdom, says:

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." - Matthew 6:19-21

O Lord, I bare my heart to You today, and allow the power of Your Word to transform me.

Today, I shift my focus away from laying up FOR MYSELF treasures upon this earth - where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves go after. Instead, help me to recognize that my wealth is not not only FOR MYSELF and my family. O Lord, in this pandemic there are so many people suffering.

I pray against the spirit of greed, covetousness and hoarding. Show me how I can be a blessing to others.  For Your Word in Matthew 25:40 reminds me that whatever I do "for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine," I did for You.

Lord, I know that my wealth is not only measured by the material things that I possess. Help me to use wisely my time and the talents that I possess to be a  blessing to others. Teach me to appreciate the power of prayer, even as I remember the poor and needy right now. Open the window of heavens and shower your blessings upon them. Use me as Your conduit and an instrument of Your peace, so that their pain and sufferings may be alleviated.

In turn, teach me how to lay up for MYSELF treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For I know where my treasure is, there will my heart be also.

Thank You, O Lord for answered prayer. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
