#5: A Prayer Against Spite, Malice ETC.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the power of Your Word.
Lord, I use it as a sword against strongholds of spitefulness, malice, grudges and bitterness in my life.
For it is written in Ephesians 4:31:
"Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice."
Lord, forgive me where my anger caused me to sin; and to hold grudges against others.
Teach me to love my enemies - as I love myself. For it is written in Proverbs 25:21-22:
"If thy enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat;
and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink; for you shall
heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord shall reward thee."
I declare the power of Your Word in 1 Peter 3:9 which says:
"Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing."
With Your promise of obtaining a blessing, I choose not to repay evil for evil. Instead I bless those who curse me.
Bring me to a place of spiritual maturity whereby 2 Corinthians 12:10 becomes real to me:
"For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions... For when I am weak, then I am strong."
I speak inner strength to my spirit man, as I wait for Your deliverance from all evil forces within and without (Proverbs 20:22).
In Jesus' name I pray with thanksgiving. Amen.
