PAINTING #16:  ' ON HIGH '

Artist's Commentary:
 

Feeling overwhelmed at times is not unusual, given that we all have to deal with life's challenges from time to time. But we must anchor our faith in God to weather life's storms. When we feel weak, we should declare:

 "The Lord GOD is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds' feet,
And makes me walk on my high places." - Habbakkuk 3:19. 

This does not mean that the problems will simply go away. But knowing that God is bigger than my problem, I am confident that I will not be swept away by my trials. The Lord is my strength.  I will be taken on higher ground above the raging waters of my circumstances.

The painting shows a bird securely perched 'on high.' It is symbolic of where we sit 'mentally' in spite of being immersed in our problems. By the grace of God, nothing can shake us. I am filled with the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, just knowing that God is in control. Peace, be still.
