ART OF PRAYER #7: The Joy of the Lord is My Strength!

Heavenly Father,

I thank you for Your Word which says,

“The joy of the Lord is My Strength”

I accept that there will terrible trials – like COVID-19 and the likes – which seek to steal my joy and peace of mind. However, I recognize that I can still be joyful in difficult and trying times. In spite of my hardships, I choose like Habakkuk to rejoice!

Habakkuk 3:18 (KJV) said, “Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation”.

I declare the Word of Psalm 35:9 (KJV): “And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation”.

For I know that ‘joy’ is a mental position that I hold in spite of what problems surround me. The joy of the Lord is my strength! (Nehemiah 8:10).

I declare that once Jesus is the centre of my life, then my joy will not be shaken by life’s storms!

According to James 1:2-3, I consider it pure joy whenever I face trials of many kinds, because I know that the testing of my faith produces perseverance.

I declare that my faith shall be strengthened, and I will be victorious over my trials.

Though feelings of happiness are temporary, I declare that my joy in the Lord is eternal.

O Lord, during these difficult and uncertain times, I pray the Word of Romans 15:13 over my country:

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

In Jesus' name I pray with thanksgiving. Amen.
