#10:Keep Me From Judging and Condemning Others

Our Father,

I thank You for understanding, patience and long-suffering in respect of how I interact with others. Where i have fallen short in this regard, I pray for Your forgiveness, even as I forgive those who have wronged me.

Help me to practice what Luke 6:37 says:
“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven."

I break free from the bad habit of judging and condemning others based on their gender, race, looks, socio-economic status, education, religious beliefs, political affiliations and the likes.

Your Word in James 4:12 is clear:
"12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?"

Lord, who am I really to judge my neighbour. Help me to remember that everyone is made in Your image and likeness, and that You love both the saint and sinner alike. Your wish is that none should perish.

Teach me to exercise patience, and to understand that everyone is at different stages in their own spiritual journey. Therefore, I should not be quick to judge them based on what I think is right. Instead show me how to pray for them, and to bless them - even when they curse me.

O Lord, where I am required to lawfully exercise my judgment, let me:
"9 Speak up and judge fairly; (and) defend the rights of the poor and needy." (Proverbs 31:9).
Lord, grant unto me a spirit of compassion and love towards others, instead of being quick to judge and condemn. Enable me to sow seeds of unity and kindness which will bear fruits of peace and joy. In Jesus' name I pray with thanksgiving. Amen.
