EXHIBITION #4: THE CRY 'IN COLOUR'
PAINTING # 32: I WILL!
"8We are hard pressed on all sides, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed." - (2 Corinthians 4:8-9)
.

''I Will!' by Alton Felix. 2019. Acrylic on stone.
Artist's Commentary:
I will not be held back by your biases against me because of my colour, creed or class. I am wonderfully made by God! I will not be denied my God-given right to justice, equality and equity. I will not be controlled by the 'mind games' that you play to imprison me emotionally. I will not be programmed by your blows to think you beat me because you love me. I will not be swept away by life's unexpected storms. I will cry but I will not drown in my sorrows. I will anchor my faith in God. Indeed, the joy of the Lord is my strength. I will achieve my divine potential. I will live to fulfill my destiny. I will be happy! I'm woman ... and I will!
Be blessed.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father,
The joy of the Lord is my strength. Thank You for the breadth of life so I can praise You. Thank You for Your word in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9:
""8We are hard pressed on all sides, but not crushed;
perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed."
Though I may be 'hard pressed' by life's dramas I am not crushed. Even when things seem so confusing, I will continue to trust and hope in You. When I am persecuted wrongly and spiritual wickedness pursue me, I know that You are always there by my side - fighting against those who fight against me, and keeping me from harm's way. At times when life's pressures bring me to my knees, let me pray. I keep my eyes and my mind stayed on You, from whence cometh my help. I thank You for hearing my cry, and for the grace to see me through another day. In Jesus' name I pray with thanksgiving. Amen.
