#7: A PRAYER FOR HUSBANDS AND WIVES
Heavenly Father,
I pray for understanding, concerning what You are saying to me right now. I ask for clarity of thought and a submissive and obedient spirit to Your Word. At the start of this new Year, I pray that Ephesian 5:21-22 take root in the hearts and minds of husbands and wives. As they hear and obey Your Word:
"21 Submitting (themselves) one to another in the fear of God."
And,
"22 Wives, submit(ting) (themselves) unto (their) own husbands, as unto the Lord."
O Lord, I pray for the softening of stony and prideful hearts. Just as Christ loves the ekklēsia (the church), I pray that Your Word in Ephesians 5:25 accomplishes what it sets out to achieve:
"25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it;
And Your Word declares further in verses 28-29:
"28...He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it..."
Lord, amidst this pandemic, I pray that the spirit of reconciliation move among families that are divided. I ask that the power of Your Word break every chain of separation, disunity and divisiveness among them. Let Your perfect and divine will be accomplished for Your honour and glory. In Jesus' name I pray with thanksgiving. Amen.
