PRAYER JOURNAL #2: 1. DELIVER ME FROM TEMPTATION
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for life’s trials which testify of Your goodness. I turn to You during times of temptation and pray for deliverance from them.
Your Word declares in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that:
“13 No temptation has overtaken (me) except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let (me) be tempted beyond what (I) can bear. But when (I am) tempted, He will also provide a way out so that (I) can endure it.”
I thank You for providing a way out, so that I can endure it.
O Lord, let me not think for a minute that You are tempting me. James 1:13-15 says
“13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”
Lord I take authority over my thoughts, words and actions and declare that I will not be influenced by my own evil desires. I rebuke every enticing spirit, and give no room for sin in my heart. I speak spiritual life over me, and declare that I will not be counted among the ‘spiritually dead.’
I thank You, O Lord, for being faithful, and for not allowing me to be tempted beyond what I can bear. In Jesus’ name I pray with thanksgiving. Amen.
